Where We're Headed: The Future of Atria

Atria's Future

Atria is a very feature rich platform even from its beta launch, but there is still so much untapped potential in the platform that I am looking forward to sharing with each and every one of you!

Expert Module Integration

Atria allows you to customize your own minds, however not every mind works the same. The next frontier Atria aims to tackle is a full integration of Mixture of Experts (MoE) modules that will allow our users to not only architect minds, but design their flow, import experts, and increase traceability of logic and thought. The next release of Atria aims to break free from the current feed-forward only configuration of minds and allows users to set up a computational graph-style mind.

This release of Atria will likely also include many quality of life changes. One such change that I am excited to explore is allowing your AI to 'dream' during downtime. This will allow your AI to train, finetune and learn while you're not using it! Learning from the most recent user feedback and integrating it into the model at the fastest possible moment without having to explicitly train on datasets.

Memory and Dynamic Context Building

One thing a lot of large companies are missing from their large models is memory, a persistent image of self, and context rebuilding from relevant interactions. This is one of the foundational niches that Atria saw, and aims to fill. While it might not be completely viable for others, Atria's unique deployment allows it's users to store their interactions and data, which in turn is a gold mind for AGI persistence and context building. No longer do you need to craft a prompt or conversation from a state-machine like AI, we aim to let you spin up your old instances, with new context, and pick up where you left off last!

Enough of the Technical Stuff!

It's time to have some fun! The hopes for this next stage in the roadmap is to really lean in and encourage users to customize, build and share! This is where I imagine our community traction will grow exponentially, and where I hope to see some of you really specializing and creating tools, toys and anything in-between! Depending on success we might even be holding plugin competitions, specialized minds, and expert modules showcases. (I particularly have hopes of building an AI that integrates into Minecraft through Mineflayer)

Secret Sauce

This part of Atria's roadmap is still fairly open-ended, however some of the essential tasks in this stage will be researched and developed continuously. The hopes for Atria at this stage is to cut dependence on libraries such as huggingface's transformers, while still remaining completely compatible and capable of running them. Essentially not only will you be allowed to stack bricks, but you'll be able to define what a brick looks like!

This stage also has hopes of coaxing the lost art of optimization back into AI. Not in the sense of gradient descent, but in terms of hardware utilization! In today's era of ultra-powerful computers, it's easy to let small inefficiencies stack up, Atira will start from the ground up, taking every advantage possible in the computer architecture to allow you to run larger models than ever thought possible! With massive scale, it's easy to forget how every small bit of compute matters, Atria aims to balance that scale for those that cannot afford Google-level architecture.

Atria Hosted Versions

No matter if you are a power user, or an entire organization, sometimes your hardware alone just does not cut it, despite our "secret sauce" fixes and optimizations. That is why Atria will be offering a hosted version of its software to allow users to host on much more powerful hardware, while retaining the features and privacy you have grown to know and love! Atria's hosted versions will still allow users to keep their models and data private, and Atira will never compromise on that trust that we build with you! We plan to even integrate hardware level encryption and non-deterministic cyphers so that you can even run your models on "untrusted" hardware! As always, this will be source available for those who like doing their homework.

TBD's

Atria has many integrations and avenues to take simultaneously. This is far from a problem, but it also means that some pivots will likely need to be made depending on user demand.

-Atria always aims to put user privacy at the forefront of operation, and adding encryption to user-AI interactions and storage is certainly one thing we aim to integrate soon!

-While some users might be satisfied with their small models and limited training sets, others might also look to larger models and think "why can't I have that?" and while that is eventually what Atria aims to allow, some band-aid solutions will likely pop up in the meantime. That being said, a feature allowing users to put their models in a student-teacher configuration with larger LLM's like GPT, Gemini and others will likely be in the near future.
